1. Tourist enters a taxi at airport or street
2. Driver claims the meter is not working
3. Offers a fixed price instead of using meter
4. Tourist is charged much higher than normal fare
WATCH FOR THIS
WARNING SIGNS
• Driver says meter is broken
• Refuses to start meter
• Offers fixed price immediately
• Price seems higher than expected
STAY SMART
HOW TO AVOID IT
• Always insist on using the meter
• Exit the taxi if meter is not used
• Use official taxis or apps
